The Covid 19 pandemic has increased unemployment globally and reduced career prospects, especially for young people.
The latest International Labour Organisation (ILO) Report confirms that Covid-19 disproportionately impacted young people‘s economic and employment opportunities. Many young people have been forced to leave the labor market or have been unable to access it due to the closures and other restrictions imposed by Covid, while others have been unable to continue their studies.
At the same time, the entrepreneurship sector has also been negatively affected by the pandemic but, although it needs to be strengthened, especially by providing modern and innovative training to future and potential entrepreneurs, we must not forget the fight against climate change and pollution.
We are consuming resources and producing waste in alarming proportions: for this reason, the recovery period should consider environmental awareness too.
We need to start thinking about how to optimize the use of resources and regenerate more than we consume, balancing economic growth with environmental protection.
The transition to a green economy requires a new figure: the green and eco-entrepreneur, focused on the development of entrepreneurship linked to sustainability.
Starting from this context, the Erasmus Plus Project “B-ECO Start-up Eco Entrepreneurs Project” intends to create an innovative methodology that will change how entrepreneurship is taught thanks to a green approach, developing an entrepreneurial mindset towards green and sustainable business.
Through the identification of innovative learning methods, the Project aims to improve the competencies and skills in the eco-entrepreneurial sector for VET trainers (Vocational Education and Training), young entrepreneurs, unemployed people, and start-ups, teaching them how to become eco-entrepreneurs and create eco-businesses.
The project will provide practical management training for training providers from partner countries focused on eco-entrepreneurship, innovation, and management of eco-businesses, and a new and innovative e-learning platform oriented to create a unique space for sharing knowledge and experiences among course participants.
B-ECO will help young people and those who want to work in the eco-entrepreneurial sector to learn what it means to be an entrepreneur, especially an eco-entrepreneur, by developing all the competencies and skills needed to become successful entrepreneurs in the eco-entrepreneurial sector.
